National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017

NAAC Accreditation

As a University, SASTRA has been re-accredited with GRADE 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission.  The Peer-team visited SASTRA during March 24 to 26, 2014.  The Peer Team expressed satisfaction about the genuine interest and approach of the University in maintaining quality and standards in its educational activities.  It also commended the University for its several good practices and achievements, some of which in particular are:

 

  • Well articulated Vision and Mission

  • Academic programmes in line with institutional goals and objectives

  • Curriculum regularly updated with feedback from different stake holders and curriculum enrichment through academic audits, feedback and effective Board of Studies

  • Transparent merit based online admission system

  • Semester Abroad Programmes for students and special schemes to provide financial support to students to visit foreign universities

  • ICT enabled class rooms and seminar halls

  • Merit based transparent faculty selection

  • Good placement indicative of learning outcomes

  • Most of the departments supported under DST-FIST programme

  • Dedicated research facility and infrastructure in emerging areas and specially created research incubation facility

  • Research exposure to under graduate students

  • Robust campus wide Wi-Fi connectivity with security systems

  • Bioinformatics software and hardware facilities good

  • Campus and academic facilities maintained well

  • Active NSS and NCC programmes and two neighbouring villages adopted

  • Well endowed and spacious academic building and laboratories

  • Active participation of students in cultural activities at state and national level

  • Participative and supportive management

  • Harmonious relationships among staff, faculty and administration

 

Washington Accord Team lauds SASTRA

The Washington Accord is an agreement that provides mobility for Indian engineering graduates around the world. The Washington Accord team visited India in the month of January 2005 and visited three government institutions and SASTRA to assess the quality of engineering education in India.  Dr. Douglas Ruth, Chairman of the visiting team was impressed with the facilities at SASTRA and recorded thus:

“I was deeply impressed with your achievements over the last 20 years. You have truly developed a better than world class undergraduate engineering facility. You have helped me form a very positive impression of education in India. For that I thank you."

The Institution of Engineering Accreditation

The Institution of Engineers (India) has accredited all eligible B. Tech. programmes offered by SASTRA.

 

TCS Accreditation

M/s Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., has accredited SASTRA with ‘A’ grade (Highest) putting SASTRA in the elite company of premier institutes. The MBA programme is also separately accredited by TCS.
