B.Tech & Integrated Law Programmes-NRI Admissions – Academic Year 2026

NRI–Sponsored admissions for B.Tech and Integrated Law programmes at SASTRA Deemed University will commence on 27 March 2026.

The online registration link will be activated on the official SASTRA website on the above date.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech Programmes (NRI–Sponsored Category)

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum academic requirements:

• 75% overall aggregate in the qualifying examination (12th / equivalent)
• 60% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry

Note:
Candidates who have not studied Mathematics in their 12th standard / intermediate level are eligible to apply only for the following programmes:

• B.Tech. – Biotechnology
• B.Tech. – Bioengineering
• B.Tech. – Bioinformatics

Guidelines to fill – NRI–Sponsored Category
Step 1: Registration

• Register using a valid email ID and Indian mobile number for all future correspondence.
• In the registration page, ensure that you select the category as "NRI".

Step 2: Login Credentials

• After successful registration, a User ID and Password will be sent to your registered email ID and Indian mobile number.

Step 3: Application Form & Document Upload

• Log in using the credentials provided and complete all mandatory sections of the application form.
• Upload the following documents in support of admission under the NRI–Sponsored category:

Documents to be Uploaded:

• Photocopy of the Sponsor’s Passport
• Sponsorship Letter addressed to:
  The Registrar,
  SASTRA Deemed University,
  Thanjavur – 613 401
  clearly undertaking to sponsor the full tuition fee (Sample format available for download)

• Address proof of the sponsor (latest Water / Gas / Electricity bill) as evidence of stay in a foreign country
• Sponsor’s employment proof (Employer certificate / latest salary slip / contract document)
• Applicant 12th Standard mark sheet (whenever available)
• Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), if applicable 

About AIU Equivalence Certificate:
This certificate is required for students pursuing curricula not covered by Indian State Boards, CBSE/ICSE, Cambridge/Singapore, IB, or American High School Diploma. For details, visit: https://www.aiu.ac.in/

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

• Complete the application process by paying the online application fee of ₹650/-.
• After successful submission and document upload, the NRI Admissions Team will share SWIFT details for remittance of the first-year tuition fee.

Tuition Fee (Per Annum)

• B.Tech Programme: USD 5,000
• Integrated Law Programme: USD 4,000 

Important Note – Law Programme (NRI Category)

Admission to the Integrated Law Programme under the NRI category is subject to management discretion and does not follow the first-come, first-served process, unlike B.Tech NRI admissions.

• Applicants who have appeared for the CLAT examination are requested to enclose their CLAT score, irrespective of the result.

Important Notes

• B.Tech NRI admissions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability of seats.
• No entrance examination is conducted by SASTRA for NRI–Sponsored admissions.
• Admission under the NRI–Sponsored category is available only at the Thanjavur campus.
• NRI–Sponsored category is not applicable for M.Tech (5-Year Integrated Programme).
• Only parents or blood relatives are permitted to act as sponsors.
• Applicants are advised not to engage with unauthorized persons or agencies claiming admission assistance. Any such instances may be reported to the Office of Admissions.
