ENTERTAINMENT QUOTIENT HIGH AT KURUKSASTRA’2013

KURUKSASTRA’2013, SASTRA University’s national level cultural competition saw the levels of entertainment stretched to its maximum extent. Four nights of music and dance under colourful lighting and a massive stage, 3 days of intense competition amongst 2000 students from over 30 colleges, over 50,000 hours of fun and food in the specially erected food and fun stalls provided the right mix of entertainment to over 10,000 lovers of arts, music, literature, drama, dance, etc. Celebrity artists like Music Director Devan, playback singer Aalap Raju, Ghatam maestro Suresh’s band Rhythm Amrhythm and renowned violinist Bala Bhaskar’s fast fusion music provided a feast to the audience. The SASTRA University’s host music and dance team’s performances kept pace with them and the 4 nights of onstage music and dance with fireworks made SASTRA reverberate with music and dance of the finest order. “Kuruksastra’13 demonstrated that it can only get better than Kuruksastra’12 and the response from the participants and the performance of the professional artists are testimony to this” said Santhosh, overall student coordinator. Aircel was the main sponsor along with other sponsors like Wipro, UTI Mutual Fund, City Union Bank, HCL, Springer and BSE. NIT, Trichy won the overall championship trophy.
