SASTRA RULES AT NIT’S FESTEMBER’12
It was SASTRA all the way right from start to finish at Festember’12, a national level cultural competition for colleges and professional organisations conducted by NIT, Trichy. SASTRA University’s cultural team walked away with the Illayaraaja overall shield for the record 13th time in the last 15 years that it had participated in Festember. “This is a record that can be beaten only by SASTRA” said Santhosh Kumar, cultural coordinator of SASTRA University. More than 60 teams participated in this 4 day cultural festival that was conducted between Sept 27 & 30. SASTRA won prizes in almost every event it participated and emerged clear overall leaders in Music, Dance and English literary events pushing IIT Madras to a distant second. The management of SASTRA congratulated the winning team and announced a cash prize of Rs.1000 to every winning student of the team.
