Magazines & College Rankings – A Clarification

In the last few weeks many magazines have released their list of top colleges / universities in various disciplines like engineering, arts, sciences, etc. SASTRA believes that “the proof of the pudding is in the eating and not in the ranking” and hence SASTRA University, as a policy, does not participate in any of these ranking initiatives (except Biospectrum’s Biotech ranking). Even if SASTRA is listed by some magazines, the information gathered is not provided by SASTRA and the University does not subscribe to these results. We are issuing this clarification in the interest of our students, faculty, potential students, recruiters, funding agencies and other well-wishers who have reached us expressing their concerns.
