SASTRA University wins S. C. Javali Memorial National Moot Court Competition

  

SASTRA University Team comprising of Pavitra C.R., Nandheni V, and Andal R, IV year B.A.., LL.B. (Hons.) students won the 16th S. C. Javali Memorial National Moot Court Competition. Pavitra C.R. walked home with “Best Lady Advocate”award. The competition was held on 11th and 12th of October, 2013 in Karnatak University’s Sir Siddappa Kambali Law College, Dharwad. In the finals, SASTRA University team was adjudged the winners. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Altamas Kabir, Former Chief Justice of India and Hon’ble Mr. Justice B. S. Patil, Judge, High Court of Karnataka presided over the finals. 28 colleges including National Law Universities from various states in India participated in the competition. Hon’ble Mr. Altamas Kabir who handed over the trophies, praised the winners’ performance, and said that he was impressed by the level of competition. The former Chief Justice advised the law students to be sensitive to the needs of society, and do their best to reach out to marginalised sections.
