1.25 MW roof-top solar power plant launched by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam

Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, launched the 1.25 MW roof-top solar power plant installed at SASTRA University by Tata Power Solar on 6^th April 2015 to meet 25% of the University’s power requirement by harnessing solar energy. This is the largest installation of its type in South India. 

Dr.Kalam also visited various research labs at the interdisciplinary research centre of SASTRA University, interacted with research faculty & scholars and launched the SASTRA University’s Vision 2025 document.
