About SWAS

The Centre for Student Wellness Activities and Support (SWAS) at SASTRA has been created to enhance overall well-being, provide a supportive environment for growth, and enable students to realize the leader and human within, while nurturing the noble soul in the reckoning. SWAS is committed to promoting overall well-being and providing a supportive environment that enables students to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically

Furthermore, students from various schools who avail themselves of the Students’ Home/Hostel facilities at SASTRA will also be part of SWAS.

Core Objectives

SWAS supports and facilitates the following areas.

Physical Wellness

Fitness programmes to build strength and stamina, Yoga sessions for balance and inner calm, Sports activities promoting teamwork and vitality, Health awareness initiatives, and Medical check-ups to monitor overall health.

Emotional & Mental Wellness

Self-care initiatives, resilience training, expressive arts activities, stress management workshops, counselling support, mindfulness practices, and Positive habit building.

Social Wellness

Peer support groups for shared growth, Community engagement events to build connections, volunteer opportunities fostering social responsibility, and awareness drives promoting inclusivity and empathy.

Academic Wellness

Study skills development for effective learning, Time management workshops to balance priorities, Examination readiness support to boost confidence, and Stress management techniques for exam preparation.

Mentoring & Counselling

Academic Guidance, Personal Counselling, Peer Mentorship, Career Counselling, Life Skills Development, Orientation & Transition Support, etc.

Nutritional Wellness

Healthy eating campaigns, diet awareness sessions, Expert talks on nutrition and wellness, food safety awareness for hygienic practices.

Preventive Wellness

Health check-up camps, lifestyle disease awareness programmes, safety & hygiene drives, and Mental health awareness sessions for holistic wellness.

Students’ Home / Hostel

Hostel etiquette, Cleanliness, sanitation, First-aid and emergency response training, Waste segregation and eco-friendly practices, Energy conservation and balanced diet awareness.

Students’ Extension Activities

NSS, SCORE, KS Upahaar, Plasma, and other service-based initiatives for the students.
